Total ConcealmentUse the following guidelines to ensure that you camouflage or cover up everything and anything that could give your location away. If you don't already have a gun that is camouflaged or has a flat matt finish, by all means go out and buy a camo kit and apply it to your gun before the season begins. The bright flash of a shiny gun barrel can be seen for hundreds of yards. And with the keen eyesight that waterfowl possess, that little flash may be the one thing that spooks them. Boat motors, lights, aluminum poles, gas tanks and a laundry list of other equipment that you may bring with you into the field should all be camouflaged or at least properly covered up with camouflaged material. U.S. Navy SEALS are masters at properly camouflaging themselves to eliminate detection. There very lives depend upon eliminating any opportunity for detection because they were improperly camouflaged. Take a lesson from the SEALS and make sure that any part of your body that is visible to waterfowl is properly covered. Email this page to a friend. "I have been waterfowl hunting since I was 13. It's a sickness, which i'm not trying very hard to cure. I found your site just a month, or so, ago, and am enjoying it very much. I hope you keep up the great articles and videos, and update the site as often as possible. I've read, and re-read every page on here, and like I said, I'm loving what you have here!" "Have to first say that I am amazed by your website. Lots of REAL and PRACTICAL stuff. I watched the videos on painting the drake mallard and it definitely was worth joining!" "The info you guys have built up on here is priceless. I got hooked on ducks and geese two years ago and don't know a whole lot about hunting techniques or strategies. This year I have had limited hunting outings as I'm in the military and been deployed allot, but using some of your suggestions, I have already seen improvements to my kill #'s." |
