10 Boat, Outboard, and Trailer Tips1. Keep Your Outboard Cool - When running through a lot of vegetation with your outboard it is very important that your outboard is able to keep pumping fresh water into the power head. To clean the water intake port grates on your outboard keep a tooth brush in your blind bag or boat somewhere. These grates are located on both sides of the lower unit right above the prop and below the cavitation plate. You must be a member to read past this point.
