Thermacell Beats Early Hunting Season MosquitoesRemembering how bad the mosquitos were during the our last early goose hunting season, I decided to take a chance and bought a Thermacell. Finally, a solution to those pesky mosquitoes without using mosquito spray. The Thermacell device uses a small butane cartridge to generate heat which activates an ordorless mosquito repellant held in a small replaceable pad. The Thermacell comes with 3 repellant pads and each pad lasts about 4 hours. Turning from blue to white, white indicates it's time to replace the pad. To use the Thermacell simply screw in the supplied butane cartridge, slide a repellant pad in place, slide the on/off switch to on, and then wait a few seconds before pressing the lighter button. It takes about 20-30 minutes for the Thermacell to start working. The device is advertised to be ordorless and when using mine I can't smell anything. The device's only shortcoming is that it will not work when you are walking, or there is a wind. But when sitting in the blind or weeds it works great! |

"I have been waterfowl hunting since I was 13. It's a sickness, which i'm not trying very hard to cure. I found your site just a month, or so, ago, and am enjoying it very much. I hope you keep up the great articles and videos, and update the site as often as possible. I've read, and re-read every page on here, and like I said, I'm loving what you have here!" "Have to first say that I am amazed by your website. Lots of REAL and PRACTICAL stuff. I watched the videos on painting the drake mallard and it definitely was worth joining!" "The info you guys have built up on here is priceless. I got hooked on ducks and geese two years ago and don't know a whole lot about hunting techniques or strategies. This year I have had limited hunting outings as I'm in the military and been deployed allot, but using some of your suggestions, I have already seen improvements to my kill #'s." |
